Membership

Any concerned adult male, who is willing to invest his time and money in the African-American youth of the Community, without seeking any personal and/or monetary gains and agreeing to comply with and abide by the Constitution and by-laws of this organization now in operation and holding oneself amenable to such regulations, as may hereafter be adopted: may make application for membership.

Membership Application

Applications for new members will be accepted at any General Body Meeting provided one-half of the joining fee is submitted with the application. Applicants are then referred to as volunteers or aspiring members and are required to perform a minimum of 120 days of volunteer service on at least two committees assigned by the Membership Committee.

Voting in of new members will be held only at a General Body Meeting in June and December. Applicants must receive an one hundred percent (100%) vote from members present and in good standing to become an Active Member.

Limitation of Membership

Membership in Concerned Black Men, Inc. shall be limited to ___ active members.

Membership Responsibilities

All members have the responsibility in sincere faith to: Actively participate on committees; Meet all financial obligations by the prescribed deadline; Participate in activities sponsored by Concerned Black Men, Inc. and; Uphold the principles and values expressed in the Constitution and maintain high loyalty to the organization.

Active Member Joining Fee

The Joining Fee for Active Membership in Concerned Black Men, Inc. is ($_____). One-half of the Joining Fee, $____, is due with the return of the Application Form (called the Application Fee). The remaining ____ dollars is due when the Aspiring member is voted in as an Active Member.

Active Membership Dues

Annual Membership Dues for Active Members of Concerned Black Men, Inc. is $_____. Membership Dues are payable at the beginning of each calendar year.

Thank you for your recent inquiry about The National Organization of Concerned Black Men Inc. It's a pleasure to enclose some information about who we are and what we do. This application is your first step toward becoming a part of an organization with a rich heritage and one which is proud of its service toward "caring for our youth".

You should take time to review this information carefully. Should you determine that NOCBM is an organization you would like to become affiliated with and begin a chapter in your city, please submit the following:

1.) A written request for chapter membership addressed to the attention of our national chairman, Dan Henderson.
2.) The names, addresses, and telephone numbers of at least 10 men in your interest group.(Form included in application).
3.) A $50.00 application fee made payable to The National Organization of Concerned Black Men, Inc.

It is our hope that you will realize the seriousness in completing your charter membership requirements NOW so that your community may move towards meeting the challenges we all face in making our youth the best they can be for the year 2000.
