Institute for American Values
About The Institute for American Values
The Institute for American Values is a private, nonpartisan organization devoted to research and
public education on issues of family and civil society. The Institute's mission is to examine the
status and future of the family and the sources of competence, character, and citizenship.
By providing forums for scholarly inquiry and debate, the Institute seeks to bring fresh
knowledge to bear on the challenges facing families and civil society. Through its publications
and educational activities, the Institute seeks to bridge the gap between scholarship and policy
making, bringing new information and analyses to the attention of policy makers in government,
opinion makers in the media, and decision makers in civil society.
The Institute is financed primarily by tax-deductible contributions from foundations,
corporations, and individuals. It also receives income from the sale of publications.
