International & Comparative Education Research

A large majority of our faculty and academic associates are involved in research, teaching, and service in other countries. Here are a few quick examples:

  • GSE faculty member and pioneer in technology-mediated adult learning, Dr. Dan Wagner and colleagues have produced a practical handbook for policymakers as they introduce new information and communication technologies to educational settings - especially in developing countries struggling to overcome the "digital divide."
  • In her book Can Schools Save Indigenous Languages?, Dr. Nancy Hornberger, the internationally renowned expert in language policy Dr. Nancy Hornberger explores the role that schooling can play in the revitalization of the 3,000 plus world languages at risk of extinction.
